Spray

Basilite^® Series Spray Mixes :
Basilite^® is a wet slurry mix applied through a spray machine. VESUVIUS supplies a wide range of spray mixes. Some mixes are in the density range of 85 to 90 lbs/cu ft (35.7 to 40 kg/cu ft). Other mixes are denser (100+ lbs/cu ft or 45+ kg) for tougher application. The product is also offered in a range of MgO content.

• Dry, fine grained MgO aggregates, fillers and foaming agent for porosity and binder
• Mixed with water (20%) and pumped
• Air introduced at end of nozzle to disperse wet mix

Dry Vibration

Basivibe™ Series Dry Vibration Mixes :

Basivibe™ is a dry granular vibration mix installed using a heated form. VESUVIUS supplies a wide range of dry vibration mixes. All mixes are in the density range of 130 to 135 lbs/cu ft (59 to 60 kg/cu ft). The product is also offered in a range of MgO content and designed for Hot Practice or Cold Practice tundishes:

• Dry, fine grained MgO aggregates, resin for low temp curing and binder
• Installed dry against a steel form
• Form is heated to 500°F (260°C) to set product.
